WEEKLY REPORT - Round of 16 - 6

Dear BCL Officials.
Before I start my breakdown of the L16 GD 06, I think it is important to let you know of a new and exciting BCL Project. The BCL are proud to announce their Youth Basketball Champions League. This is a great development for the BCL and will produce some great games and events. We look forward to supporting this venture.
As we move into April, we move into the next level of the BCL competition, the quarter-final round of the games. Before the new games, I would like to share with you the Video Observers' feedback received after the games, L16 GD 06.
POSITIVE
- Game control through following the proper criteria.
- Communication with the participants and amongst the crew.
- Contacts criteria.
- Number of correct no calls.
TO IMPROVE
- Trust vs. Double whistles.
- Fake being fouled.
- Marginal calls.
UF CRITERIA
In the 8 games, we called 7 unsportsmanlike fouls. All our final decisions were correct. Per category: C1 (1), C2 (3), C3 (2), C4 (1).
IRS – HCC
One head coach asked for the IRS check – OOB situation. Referees stay with the initial (proper) decision.
IRS – REFEREES
During the
round, we have 11 IRS usages. The average length of a review is 60 seconds.

In the table below you can find our information regarding your performances during the L16 stage of the BCL competition:

As you can see 98.6% of our games in the BCL L16, were marked standard, above standard or very good, this is a great achievement. Unfortunately we had 2 marks below our standard but luckily, these were not decisive for the progress of any team. I hope you remember, my target is still that ABOVE STANDARD becomes our standard performance level.
With the last part of my feedback, we can conclude the L16 stage. My final message is, thank you for your efforts, your professionalism, and your performances. Now, we have a next page in our competition, the knockout system. On the one side, your previous performances make me confident, however, our experience says that in a knockout system everything is possible.
To support you, we'll have Referee Instructors live in the Gym. Together, Referees and Instructor, should focus on the high-level scouting and game planning. This is our base for a high-level performance. For me, we cannot be surprised, we know the teams, the players, and the coaches. You just need to give your best in every game, quarter, minute, second.
In the end, I like to congratulate all BCL Referees nominated to Long List for World Cup 2023:

Now it is up to all of you to provide your highest possible performance levels until the end of the European Club competitions and through our summer tournament period.
With my trust, I wish you great performances in all upcoming BCL QF games.
